Montclair Township buildings participate in the Essex-Hudson energy aggregation program which runs through June 2015, which at has a renewable energy component that is 1.8 times the amount required by the RPS while saving money from lower flat rates of third party suppliers. The increased renewable energy component helps the community meet the goals of the Montclair Carbon Emissions Reduction Plan and the state of New Jersey’s GHG (Green House Gas) reduction target.

The Montclair Board of Education participates in the ACES (Alliance for Competitive Energy Services) program, which purchases electric and gas for over 430 school districts in the state at lower rates.
